The Printmakers of North Carolina and 311 Gallery invite print students to submit work for the April 2013 Exhibition of new work by students of NC Universities and Colleges.

Hey there PoNCsters,

Hoping you are all able to get through these winter shiverfests and get some good work done.
I am looking forward to spring for a number of reasons that have nothing to do with frostbite.
I just want to give you some things to think about while you travel to Milwaukee for the SGA Conference.
The Student Prints Show is in April this year.
We will meet here at 311 on March 30th.
I want to do some print shows in the gallery this summer.
Please give it some thought and send me some suggestions.
Or better yet, send me some images of your new work and I will put my curatorial skills towards exhibits for June, July and August.
Also, have not found a venue for our 7th Annual Exhibition.  It is time to take it on the road, so please, think about possibilities in cities or campuses outside the triangle area.

One on One for One Fifty

Fee: $150 (Participant determined schedule)

Design your own curriculum: Relief printing, screen-printing or intaglio, we can get you started.

You will have ten hours of instruction, in whatever increments work best for you. Materials provided.

Come and do some printmaking on your own

The print studio is located in the back room of 311 West Martin Street Galleries and Studios in Raleigh, NC. Formerly at Artspace, it is the working studio of Judy Jones and is used by the 311 tenant printmakers. The Printmakers of North Carolina (PoNC) meet here. Classes and workshops are held at the studio.

Press time is available at the following rates: 

With instruction and materials: $45/hour

Independent/without materials: $20/hour

Independent/without materials, PoNC member AND workshop participant: $10/hour

Independent/without materials, PoNC member OR workshop participant: $10/hour

The Print Studio is a non-toxic working environment. Printers are required to use baby oil, soysov and citrus based cleaners or greased lightning for cleanup. Absolutely no solvent-based cleaner is allowed. Detailed guidelines for print studio use will be provided and are posted in several locations in the studio.

Since January 2010, The Print Studio has been holding an open studio on the last Sunday of each month. The studio will be available to all workshop participants to use from 10am-6pm for a fee of only $20. Pre-registration is necessary.
